Bobbi and Joey's Journey

We are Bobbi Jo and  Joey. Our struggle with infertility began about ten years ago.

After being married for a couple of years we tried to start our family. We started treated by a reproductive endocrinologist and found Bobbi had one blocked fallopian tube and scar tissue on the other.

We were able to conceive but then discovered we had an ectopic pregnancy. My doctor told me before the surgery that he would try to remove the scar tissue on the other fallopian tube during my procedure. Unfortunately, after the procedure we were told there was too much damage to my tube and my only option would be In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

Our hearts sunk because we both knew there was no way we could afford this procedure and like so many others we have no insurance to cover IVF. Although we know we can support a child, it is cruel to be told having a child is out of reach because you can't write a check for $15,000. It seemed hopeless and was very depressing.

After I came home from the hospital, I cried so thinking Joey and I could never have a baby. To complicate matters, I am married to the oldest son and we felt the pressure to produce the first grand baby. But plans change and things don't always happen the way we hope.

As the years have gone by, we have learned to deal with infertility and to find ways to cope. Joey and I have come a long way growing closer to the Lord and to each other than ever before. Each day we pray we will have a child together.

What a blessing from the Lord when (in April 2009) a total stranger told me about the From INCIID Heart IVF Scholarship Program. The stranger said, "You never know, I may have been sent to you for a reason". We applied for the INCIID Program and found out just last week the scholarship committee had selected Joey and me.

As recipients of the scholarship, we formed a "Heart Team". Joey and I have pledged our fund raising support as part of our responsibility to keep the INCIID Programs and Services going. Our Heart Team has pledged a commitment of $3,000 to support INCIID Programs. Once we meet our team amount, we will move forward with a free IVF cycle.

We need your help to support this great organization. INCIID is the first and only national program helping people like Joey and me by actually putting treatment into our hands. We and many others like us are without insurance. INCIID's program works with people like Joey and me matching us with doctors and clinics that will meet our medical needs for IVF.

Please help us by donating in support of Heart Team Bobbi Jo and Joey and by spreading the word to others about the wonderful work of INCIID Programs and Services.

When we reach our goal we will be matched up with a ** "Doctor with Heart" and clinic to begin our cycle!

This tax deductible contribution to charity is used in sustaining INCIID’s programs and services, message boards, and in particular the IVF Scholarship program.
